MANILA -- A teenager from Quezon City kicked off Sunday's episode of the second season of "The Voice Kids Philippines," earning the coveted three-chair turn.
Aside from singing, Ataska Mercado is into fashion, being the daughter of a fashion designer.
For the blind auditions, Mercado performed Clean Bandit's "Rather Be," making all the judges turn for her after just a few notes.
"You were worth listening to, and once we turned, ah, thank you, God, sakto sa pangalan mo. Salamat, salamat," Lea Salonga told Mercado.
"Nakaka-amaze ka. You're a star. The way you look, talagang perfect," Sarah Geronimo added.
"Yan ang kailangan ko sa team ko, that kind of joy nga. 'Yung umpisa, I just love that infectious energy. 'Yung dulo, I'm just having fun. I just want to dance, sing my heart out. I like that. It's gonna be fun on my team," Bamboo added.
Mercado, who said she is a fan of both Salonga and Geronimo, opted to be part of Kamp Kawayan. She is the second member of the rock singer's team, along with 9-year-old Romeo Espino.
